Date: September 13, 2023On July 28, 2023, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, signed a law regarding the rescheduling of the celebration of Christmas and several other important dates.According to Law No. 3258, Christmas will now be celebrated once a year on December 25th, instead of January 7th. Starting from 2023, the official date of Christmas in Ukraine is December 25th.Additionally, the following holidays have been rescheduled:
Defender of Ukraine Day will be observed on October 1st, instead of October 14th.
Ukrainian Statehood Day - July 15th, instead of July 28th.
Ukrainian Language and Literature Day - October 27th, instead of November 9th.
Family Day in Ukraine - May 15th, instead of July 8th.
The dates of other national holidays remain unchanged. The new calendar for 2024 with the main State Holidays looks as follows:
December 25, 2024 - Christmas;
January 1, 2024 - New Year;
March 8, 2024 - International Women's Day;
May 1, 2024 - Labor Day;
May 5, 2024 - Easter;
May 8, 2024 - Victory Day over Nazism in World War II, 1939-1945;
June 23, 2024 - Trinity;
June 28, 2024 - Constitution Day of Ukraine;
July 15, 2024 - Ukrainian Statehood Day;
August 24, 2024 - Independence Day of Ukraine;
October 1, 2024 - Defender of Ukraine Day.
There will be no additional days off in Ukraine in accordance with the On the Organization of Labor Relations in Conditions of Martial Law law, as long as a state of war exists in the country. However, private companies may choose to establish additional days off at their discretion.
